Accessibility
This accessibility statement applies to the Leicester City Council Housing Online website. It applies to all pages contained within the site.
This website is run by Leicester City Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use our website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts, albeit these are not applied to text embedded within images. We would recommend using the ‘Text only’ version to take advantage of this.
- zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
We are aware of some issues that may affect the accessibility of some parts of the website:
- There are a number of areas where a screen reader will not fully work, especially when navigation using the tab key.
- the ‘Report a repair’ process may be difficult for keyboard and screen reader users to complete
- forms on the website may be difficult to complete with a screen reader as they are missing accessible labels
- page structure may be difficult to discern due to missing or incorrect page elements
- When increasing the magnification of pages, some of the labels do not show and the text at the base of the page extends and overlaps.
- the website times out after a period of time without providing a warning
